Copper peptide is a small protein fragment made up of three amino acids – histidine, lysine and glycine. These amino acids are naturally attracted to copper and often work together in the body. Copper peptide was discovered in 1973, when it was found to make older liver cells act like younger ones, and nowadays there is a lot of research showing its positive effects and safety. Copper peptide has the ability to reduce inflammation, promote skin regeneration and also combat fine lines and wrinkles.

Copper peptide stimulates skin cells such as fibroblasts to produce more elastin and collagen, increasing the structural integrity of the skin and significantly reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, it works as a powerful anti-inflammatory, reducing redness, swelling and irritation making it a beneficial ingredient for conditions such as eczema and rosacea and acne. Another benefit of copper peptide is that it has the potential to reduce hyperpigmentation and even out skin tone by promoting skin cell turnover and inhibiting the production of excess pigment also known as melanin.
