Lactic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid that comes from the fermentation of lactose. Lactic acid, which occurs naturally in the body, exfoliates the skin by breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells, promoting the growth of new, healthy skin. Lactic acid is one of the least irritating AHA's as it doesn't penetrate deeply into the skin because the molecule is larger than glycolic acid.

Note: Low pH (Acidic) Products should not be used concurrently with 30% Urea (high pH) they will neutralise each other and lose efficacy.
