Propylene glycol |
Propylene glycol is a hydrating ingredient that helps skin care products absorb better through the skin making the product more effective. It works by interacting with the outer layer of the skin, the stratum corneum lipids, which are fats that help form a protective barrier. Additionally, the combination of glycerol and propylene glycol, forms a protective layer on the skin and helps maintain proper hydration by creating a temporary barrier on the skin's surface until the natural barrier is restored to healthy skin.
