Raspberry ketones are aromatic compounds that give European red raspberries their distinctive scent and flavour. They are also naturally present in other fruits such as apples, peaches, grapes, and certain vegetables. According to a 2021 study, raspberry ketone is considered "Generally Recognised as Safe" as a flavouring agent and is widely used in foods. It has also gained popularity for its potential health benefits.

Research has shown that raspberry ketone may help with weight loss, protect the heart and liver, reduce inflammation, and also have anti-androgenic properties - which means it may help manage hormones such as testosterone. Additionally, in a study by Rao et al., 2021, Raspberry ketone has been shown to increase the activity of genes that help break down fat. It boosts the function of key enzymes, like hormone-sensitive lipase and adipose triglyceride lipase, which are important for breaking down stored fat into energy.
